Our route through FranceFollowing the restrictions in 2020 we are hoping for more normal times to resume in 2021. And are starting the year off with some shorter tours into France. These have proved popular last year so we are running similar ones in 2021.

We are also taking the opportunity to research a couple of new sections of routes and hotels and would welcome additional tour members along for the fun!

PLEASE NOTE: we are not planning to take our support van or club-moto tail rider on these trips, although subject to numbers we may revise this.

With this in mind these trips are being offered at a reduced cost compared to our normal trips, but you can rest assured the usual high quality roads, stops and hotels will still be very much part of your tour.

Our fully-guided tour is an impressive way to ride your motorbike with like-minded bikers through France and back. The stunning roads and beautiful scenery makes days in the saddle a delight for riders and pillions alike.

Our carefully planned and researched route means all you have to think about is riding your bike. Hotels, coffee breaks, fuel and lunch stops are all sorted to save you any hassle.

Our tip-top hotels are a mix of traditional, boutique and modern, some in towns, some in the middle of nowhere – all chosen with our tour members and the security of their motorbikes in mind. Enjoy the variety of regional culinary delights as we ride through France.

This trip is suitable for experienced riders and pillions comfortable with covering up to 300 (largely non-motorway) miles a day.

Covid-19: Bearing in mind the safety of our tour members we’ll be using the Tunnel to get to France, so ‘social distancing’ won’t be an issue. We would ask that you ensure you bring along your own face masks and hand sanitiser.
Please also note that all monies paid are fully refundable in the event that the trip has to cancelled due to further travel restrictions being implemented subject to FCO guidelines (as per our terms and conditions item 2.3)

A trip that won’t be forgotten!

Day 01 The tour begins Tunnel to France .... Night in Honfleur
191 miles

We’ll meet at Folkestone Eurotunnel terminal to board our train to France. While we wait to board we can introduce ourselves and start to get to know each other. Once we are on the train we’ll have a chat about how our guided tours work, our rider policy (included in your info pack when you book) and answer any questions you may have while we head under the channel and wave goodbye to the UK.

If suitable for tour members, we will meet at Maidstone services on the M20 and ride the last 30 miles as a group to the tunnel.

The train departure time is planned for the morning, but should you wish to travel later due to distance in the UK we can arrange a later train for you and will ensure you have the hotel details for the evening.

On arrival we'll head South for our overnight stop in Honfleur, a stunning French town with a magnificent harbour and plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. The ride will include a few miles of motorway and long sections of stunning rural French roads, wihilst the ride over the Pont de Normandie is always spectacular on the way into Honfleur. Our hotel for the evening is a lovely (very) French hotel near the harbour.

We can all get to know each over a beer or two around the harbour.

Day 02 Let's get properly started Welcome to rural roads
283 miles

After breakfast in Honfleur, we'll head off into France – the fun begins!

Our route takes us through rural areas of France with endless green fields, deep forests, stately chateaux and small villages. Passing through the Loire valley, we’ll cross the Loire via the imposing bridge at Langeais. We’ll ride through La Brenne Nature Park that’s dotted with lakes, we arrive at Argenton-sur-Creuse where many of the houses with galleries and balustrades overhanging the riverbank are 15th-century.

Tonight we'll be staying in an 18th-century manor overlooking the river valley. The hotel has an outside pool, garden and terrace. The beautiful rooms are in classic French design with antique furniture.

Group dinner tonight.

Day 04 Ride over the hills Champagne region
252 miles

Today we’ll ride across hilly landscapes and through the Champagne region with its ponds, forests and hedged farmland. Our route seeks out the best bends and scenery as the terrain begins to flatten out as we wind down for our final night in France.

Our hotel tonight is in Peronne. The busy square is the perfect place to watch the world go by.

We'll relive our adventures over a final group meal.

Day 05 Our train awaits Goodbye France

We can arrange alternative tunnel crossings for those that may not be able to make the morning crossing on 21 May due to distance or other commitments. Hotel details for the evening in Honfleur will be provided and we can meet up later.

Please ensure you bring your own masks and hand sanitiser, as masks may be required in certain areas during the tour.

Each day we'll set off around 9am with pre-planned stops for coffee, lunch and fuel.

To give you a luggage-free ride, we take your bags in our support van – they'll be in your room each night when we reach our hotel.

Our corner marking system allows you to ride at your own pace and our club-moto tail marking rider is always on hand in case of any issues.
